This session will show what a vector is, what a vector database is and how to use these new Oracle Tools.  The focus will be on using the Oracle Vector Search to find things in the Oracle Vector Database.  Many things will be covered including vector embeddings, vector data type, LLMs, Select AI Oracle Tool, and Algorithms within Oracle.  The goal is to make this simple with many examples on how to go from a beginner to someone using Oracle Vector Search in the Oracle Vector Database both securely and "Oracle Fast."  No experience necessary for this session.  We'll also look at a few other places Oracle has included AI & ML into Oracle Products such as Agents (briefly).

Picture this: a ticket claims, "This query takes 45 seconds!" How can you verify it? Is 45 seconds typical? Has it happened before? Could it be using a bad execution plan? By analyzing ASH data, we'll answer these questions and more.

In this session, I'll demonstrate how to manually infer SQL run times from ASH data. Then, I'll introduce a flexible SQL script that analyzes ASH data, infers run times, and reports results—even down to the execution plan level. Finally, we'll use a simple spreadsheet to review and analyze the results. Join me as we explore a hidden gem in ASH data analysis!
