Oracle 18c introduced a new feature called Centrally Managed Users that allows you to directly integrate your database to an on-premises Active Directory server for database user management. In this presentation we will discuss some of the design considerations and options for how to rollout CMU as well as the technical requirements and process to transition from local managed to centrally managed users.

Most Graph-RAG demonstrations fall flat. They dive into complex code, use simplistic unrealistic fraud scenarios, or miss the real hidden challenge: detecting fraudulent patterns across disconnected transactional systems with no foreign keys between them.
So I decided to do something different. Let me introduce you to Slick Eddie. He's a fraudster working with four buddies to steal gift card funds across multiple uncoupled systems.
Here's the thing: I wanted to catch Eddie using only ChatGPT-like prompts. No code. But I hit a wall. The fraud pattern and data volume were too complex for prompting alone.
That's when I decided to partner with Oracle 26ai and an AI Coding Assistant. Together, we built a multi-phase detection pipeline in PL/SQL and PGQL using some clues, fraud fingerprint embedding, similarity search to find suspicious transaction bursts, Property Graphs to reduce 3.7 million paths to 132, and balance validation to isolate the exact fraud sequence.
This presentation reveals the real story. You'll see what worked, what didn't, and how your curiosity combined with an AI assistant can solve problems in days that would otherwise take months.
Ready to catch Slick Eddie?

We have become an AI-driven data society. Organizations collect data at extraordinarily high volumes and are expected to turn that data into better decisions as quickly as business needs evolve. The world has already changed. Cloud adoption is at an all-time high, and traditional on-premises solutions for data storage, management, and analytics can no longer keep pace with the growth of business data or the demands of AI workloads.
The Oracle AI Data Platform provides a modern data architecture that includes data lakes, data lakehouse patterns, and purpose-built data stores. Data engineers sit at the center of this ecosystem, building and operating pipelines that standardize data catalogs, data glossaries, and data definitions for consumption.
This session explores the Oracle AI Data Platform for data engineers, with a focus on the data lakehouse built on Autonomous AI Database. Attendees will learn the patterns that define a lakehouse and how to use pipelines to build a modern, AI-ready data platform.
Attendees will gain insights into:

A keynote by Larry Ellison showed why they would be the biggest cloud provider while also showing some recent applications of AI (Health, Agriculture, Safety). Juan Loaiza & TK Anand on the AI Agentic Framework & Catalog, ONNX models, MCP Support, Private Agent Factory, Unified Hybrid Vector Search (LLM + RAG), Autonomous AI Lakehouse with Apache Iceberg and other AI enhancements. Steve Miranda showed how there are over 600 AI Assistants & Agents in Oracle Applications right now and how they can be leveraged. My own session with Mark Nelson showed how to leverage all of this AI using the AI Optimizer & Toolkit. This session will take what I considered several important pieces of each session.

Patching Oracle Databases has become a very routine procedure, but are you doing it the correct way? As of Oracle 19c Oracle is recommending out of place patching for reduced downtime, simplicity, and efficiency. But what is out of place patching? In this presentation we will cover the overall steps and benefits of out of place patching including the commands and tools needed. Bring your patching to the next level for Oracle Database, ASM stand alone (Oracle Restart), and Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC). Don’t patch like it’s 1999, patch the right way.

We have become an AI driven world. Every vendor has an AI story, and every executive is asking what AI means for their business. For Oracle DBAs, developers, and architects, the real question is simple: How do I use AI to grow my career, not fall behind? In this session, we will talk about practical ways Oracle professionals can use AI to become more valuable, more visible, and more impactful in their organizations.Let’s talk about leveraging AI to remove grunt work, learn faster, and expand your visibility. Our goal with AI should be to become three to four times more productive. Let’s discuss how we can achieve more with AI. The six key things that we will focus on are learning effective prompt engineering, using AI to write better scripts and documentation, creating a simple roadmap to make AI part of your daily habit, building co-pilot projects with things like vector search/RAG/APEX, improving presentations and communication with AI, and lastly, as a fellow executive, what I am hearing from other executives in the IT industry about the AI roadmap. Come see how you can use AI to future proof your Oracle career and move from being the person who keeps the lights on to the person who leads the conversation.

This Customer Panel will have many of Oracle Customers & Experts discussing the effects of AI on their business. We'll touch upon the practical applications of the Vector Search and the Vector Database to impact the business in a positive way. We'll talk about the benefits and the challenges of these new Oracle innovations. Rich will host a customer panel to get deep insights from those that have explored the world of AI deeply.
